VW Camper RHD (1978)+New MoT

This RHD walk-through Devon conversion VW Camper is in very good condition and has had over £16000 spent on it since 2008 making it a strong, robust example that has proven reliability. It has been used for long distance touring over the past few years and has a superb engine and gearbox giving it a more solid feel when driving than is the case with some VW Transporters of this age.

In 2010 a rolling restoration began, firstly with some interior work, new heater pipes and a full brake re-commissioning to include new front discs and pads, rear drums and new brake shoes. In 2011 a 1600 single port engine was fitted, some wiring work carried out and the starter motor rebuilt. In 2012 the VW had new ball joints, axle seals, wheel bearings and the pop top roof replaced with another Devon original unit. In 2013 the body was stripped down and rebuilt with various new panels and rubbers all replaced. All receipts for the above work are with the Camper and from previous MOT's with the vehicle we can confirm over 20,000 miles have been covered since 2008. The VW boasts many nice upgrades and features such as Halogen headlights, immobiliser, leisure battery, Eberspacher heater unit, short shift gear change, detachable roof rack, etc.

GCP 977S has a lovely patina and has a much loved feel to it with various event stickers on the glass and the inside has a homely feel with old cushions. A fortune has been spent making sure it is reliable and capable of providing lots of good memories. If looking for a smart looking Camper and are prepared to do a little tidying inside, this is an ideal choice.
